A warm welcome to Clockhouse Primary School

On behalf of the Children, Staff and Governors, welcome to the Clockhouse Primary School Website and welcome to our Clockhouse family. We hope you enjoy the time you spend looking around our site, that you find the information helpful and that it gives you a taste of the happy and industrious school that we are.

Clockhouse is a large Primary School brimming with lots of character. We aim to create a happy and stimulating environment in which pupils are encouraged to develop their character and talents in a supportive community.

    Weekly reminders for week beginning 17th November 2025

    After the last few busy weeks, we have a quieter week at school this week as we gear up to what we hope will be another memorable Clockhouse Christmas (watch out for more information).
     
    Thank you for your support with Children In Need - it is appreciated.
     
    Bikeability
    There are various Bikeability sessions happening this week if you signed your child up for this.
     
    Is your child, or a child you know due to start Reception in September 2026
    We are looking forward to welcoming prospective parents / carers into school on Thursday 20th  November either at 10.00am or 4.00pm. Please call the school to book this or a tour later in the term. Places on each tour are limited. Please spread the word.
     
    Sport
    Good luck to the Key Stage 2 football teams who are taking part in Borough competitions this week. 
     
    Things to be aware of
    Year 1 to Year 6 do not forget to get your tickets for the OCA Festive Disco on 3rd December as well as raffle tickets for OCAdvent. Thanks to all those who have already shown their support.

    Weekly reminders for week beginning 10th November 2025

    We hope the children enjoyed Best of British week and the children were excited to come home and talk to you about this.
     
    Thank you also for your overwhelmingly positive feedback your gave to us in the questionnaire we sent out. We are busy looking at this and will communicate our overall findings with you in the near future as well as trying to address the improvement areas you have suggested.
     
    Well done also for the extra efforts made for Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week. A huge well done to our winners Peru and Kenya.
     
    Remembrance Day
    On Tuesday we will be holding our annual Remembrance Day Service. This has now become some what of a Clockhouse Tradition and an important date in our school calendar. Look out for the displays on the school fence as always. The children always work hard to complete these.
     
    Year 4
    We look forward to welcoming our Year 4 (Wednesday - 9.10-10.30) parents for Learn with my Child. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
     
    Greenland
    We look forward to welcoming our Greenland parents / carers for Learn with my Child on Friday morning at 2.15pm. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
     
    School Photographs
    Please remember that individual school photographs will be taken on Tuesday 11th November. If you do want siblings photographed please come before school, this can also include siblings who do not come to Clockhouse. 
     
    Children In Need
    On Friday, we are once again supporting the very worthy cause of Children in Need. Together we will come together by wearing spots. In doing so we will be having a non-uniform day where we will be showing our support by coming dressed in something spotty (a small donation in the bucket (or via Parent Pay, link shared) is all that is needed, should you wish to contribute)! Should your child have PE on this day, they can still wear something spotty for the day but will still be doing PE. Please keep this in mind when deciding what your child will wear. All donations received for this will be sent to Children in Need. Please help us support this worthy cause if you can!
     
    Is your child, or a child you know due to start Nursery in September 2026
    We are looking forward to welcoming prospective parents / carers into school on Thursday 10.00am. Please call the school to book this or a tour later in the term. 
     
    Things to be aware of
    The annual Cake Sale will be taking place on 5th December for all those fabulous bakers out there. A letter will be coming out about this in the near future.
    Christmas is fast approaching, please keep an eye out for relevant letters coming your way soon.

    Weekly reminders for the week beginning 3rd November 2025

     Welcome back to the new half term everyone!

    We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school tomorrow (Monday 3rd November). We hope that you all had a lovely holiday and are ready and raring to go for the new term ahead!
     
    Parent / Carer Questionnaire
    The termly questionnaire for parents / carers came out via Class Dojo before the holiday and can be accessed using the link below 
     
    As always we thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate that this takes time but your feedback is invaluable to us as we continually strive to improve the educational experience we provide for the children and families we serve. 
     
    Best of British Week
    This week we will be celebrating Britain and the British Culture with our annual Best of British Week. This year we will be focussing on British authors and places. I am sure the children will love to tell you all about what they have learnt.
     
    Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality
    This week is our termly focus Attendance and Punctuality Week. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is in school everyday and on time! We really do need to work together to improve the children's attendance across the school and need your help to do so. Together we CAN DO IT! Look out for the daily updates! Who will win the top prize?
     
    Reception - Year 6
    Please remember that the nurses are in on Tuesday for the first round of flu immunisations.
     
    Year and Year 3
    We look forward to welcoming our Year 3 (Tuesday - 9.10-10.30) and Year 1 (Friday - 9.10-10.30 parents for Learn with my Child. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.

    Year 5 have their annual Roman Day on Thursday. We are looking forward to seeing some fantastic costumes .

    Weekly reminders for week beginning 20th October 2025

    What a lovely week last week was - well done to you all and thank you for all the support you continue to show us. We are lucky to work with such a wonderful community.
     
    It is hard to believe that we are going into the last week of this half term already - where is the time going. It is certainly going to be a busy and exciting one!
     
    Year 5
    We look forward to welcoming our Year 5 (Tuesday - 9.10-10.30) parents for Learn with my Child. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
     
    Year 6
    Year 6 have their Viking Day on Thursday. We are looking forward to seeing some fantastic costumes or bright colours for Bright Day if they wish.
     
    Parents' Evening 
    Do not forget that on Wednesday and Thursday of this week it is Parents' Evening after school. If you do not yet have an appointment please book this on line. If you have any issues, please contact Mrs Collins in the office. As you know, we are offering a blended approach, so if you have not done so already, please do tell the teachers if you want a Zoom meeting otherwise we will assume you will be attending in person.
     
    Please do allow your children to be part of the meeting so that they also know how they are doing and what they need to work on. The importance of the co-education of your child cannot be overstated
     
    Natasha Brind's Bright Day
    On Thursday, we invite our whole community to come to school in bright colours. It would be lovely to see parents / carers getting involved as well. This is in memory of Natasha, our much loved member of staff who sadly and very unexpectedly passed away three years ago. If you would like to donate to Cancer Research, a charity dear to Natasha and her family, please do so but there is no obligation.
     
    OCA (Our Clockhouse Association) Sweet Stall
    OCA will be holding a Sweet Stall event after school on Thursday. Look out for the  stalls around the site on Thursday after school. Sweet bags are £1.00. Please do support them.

    Weekly reminders for week beginning 13th October 2025

    As the nights begin to draw in, it is full steam ahead at Clockhouse as we prepare for another week.
     
    A big thank you to you all for showing the support you do. We are lucky to work with such a wonderful and supportive community.
     
    Year 2
    We look forward to welcoming our Year 2 (9.10-10.30) parents for Learn with my Child. Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
     
    Year 3
    Year 3 are off to Barleylands on Tuesday. Please ensure arrival to school is prompt so that the coaches can leave on time. Please also ensure that if permission slips or money has not been sent in that these are in by Monday at the latest. Thank you in advance.
     
    Things to be aware of
    Parents' Evening is Wednesday 22nd October and Thursday 23rd October. Following the letter sent last week, please book appointments on line.

    Weekly reminders for week beginning 6th October 2025

    It is hard to believe that we are already a week into October - where is the time going! 

    Thank you to all of those who showed their support for the school on Thursday by having a school dinner! 
     
    Harvest Festival
    On Tuesday we will be having our annual Harvest Festival with the children. As per the letter that came out earlier in the term, we will be collecting for the Food Bank who are in great need at the moment. Please send donations in with the children and we will pass these on
     
    World Mental Health Day
    On Friday we will be supporting World Mental Health Day. This is a charity close to the school's heart and we ask that the children come to school in non-uniform including something yellow - this can be a small as a hair clip, a pattern on socks etc. to show their support. If you wish to donate this will also be gratefully received. PE will continue as normal. 
    Year 4 
    Year 4 have their annual Egyptian Day on Friday. We are looking forward to seeing some fantastic costumes or yellow for Yellow Day if they wish.
     
    Sport
    Good luck to the Year 5 and 6 Cross Country Team who take part in a Borough Competition on Tuesday.
     
    School Closure
    Please do not forget that Friday 24th October is a staff training day and therefore the school will be closed to children.
     
    Things to be aware of
    Open Evening is coming up (22nd and 23rd October). Letters and the information regarding our new booking system will be coming home in the near future.
     
    We finish for half term at the end of the day on Thursday 23rd October. We return to school on Monday 3rd November.

    Weekly reminders for week beginning 29th September 2025

    Another good week was had at Clockhouse last week with another busy week coming up. As always thank you for all you do and your on-going support.

    Governor Day
    Our Governors will be in school on Tuesday and will be in the playground at the start of the day, please do take the time to speak to them should you wish to.
     
    Reception
    We look forward to welcoming our Reception parents for Learn with my Child on Tuesday and Wednesday (please check with teachers if you are not sure which day you are due to come). As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
     
    Year 5
    Please remember that Year 5 start swimming on Monday, please ensure that they have all they need.
     
    Year 6 
    Please do not forget that you are invited to attend a meeting on Wednesday at 5pm regarding SATs and the Year 6 residential. Please come to the Key Stage 2 building. We look forward to seeing you. 
     
    Special Dinner for all
    On Thursday we have the first special dinner day of the year. It would be really good to get as many people as possible having dinner on Thursday as this determines some of our schools funding. We really do appreciate your help in this matter. The menu was sent on Class Dojo last week.

    Weekly reminders for week beginning 22nd September 2025

    Thank you to everyone who helped us remember our much loved member of staff on Friday, I know it meant a lot to us and the family. 
    The children have all settled into the year and we are certainly seeing some fabulous learning taking place across the school. As I walk around the school, it is wonderful to see them so settled, working so hard and being 'Relentless and Rigorous'. As always, thank you for your on-going support - it really is a team effort in every sense of the word.
     
    Thank you to all those who attended Meet the Teacher last week. It was lovely to welcome you. Thank you also to all those parents who are supporting their children and practising the children's reading and spellings with them at home as well as number bond and times tables. Please remember every time the children read at home and you sign their Reading Record book or send a message on Class Dojo, they get a raffle ticket and are entered into our weekly prize draw - you have to be in it to win it!
     
    Year 6 
    Year 6 will be taking part in their first Mock SATs test this week, please do support them and make sure they get plenty of rest so that they can do their best. This is to help the children prepare for their tests in May as well as to help to inform learning and teaching.
     
    We look forward to welcoming our Year 6 parents / carers on Thursday for Learn with my Child at 9.10am - 10.30am (approximately). Please come for as little or as much as you can. As with the other year groups, regrettably we are unable to accommodate younger siblings at these events.
     
    Year 5
